A STARTUP DEDICATED TO BUILDING A PLATFORM SPEAKS TO THOSE SEEKING HONEST ANSWERS
Our mission is to strengthen political efficacy by helping citizens understand not just what’s happening, but why. We scrutinize the narratives advanced by Democrats, Republicans, third parties, and the media, holding all players accountable for their actions—and inactions.
"If you can criticize your own party as much as you criticize the other, then we’re finally on the right track to building a healthy democracy."
- Avee Allgood, Founder of Is It Allgood Politics
We’re not a liberal source. We’re not a conservative source. We’re an American source.
At Is It Allgood Politics, our mission transcends partisan lines. We’re here to uncover the truth, hold all politicians accountable, and empower citizens to make informed decisions. Our focus is on fostering accountability, understanding, and unity—because democracy isn’t about left or right. It’s about all of us.
Is It Allgood?

Is It Allgood Politics is your one-stop shop for deep insights into today's political issues.
This is a completely independent, grassroots-funded, start-up political platform created to help citizens navigate the complexities of modern politics with clarity and confidence. It is a place for anyone who feels disillusioned by the divisive narratives dominating our political discourse and is looking for thoughtful, unbiased analysis that digs beneath the surface.

What Is The Purpose of This Platform?
Here, our mission is simple: to provide objective, research-backed analyses of political issues WITHOUT promoting one party over another.
Specifically, Is It Allgood Politics wasn't created for only pushing one side’s agenda. In fact, it was created for quite the opposite - we aim to be a space to examine the full picture--the history, context, and real-life consequences of the policies and politics that shape our lives.
Thus, our work is about equipping you, the voter, with the tools and knowledge to form your own opinions.
By remaining neutral, we can more fully examine the historical, political, scientific, and social dimensions of every topic. We reveal not just what Democrats and Republicans propose but why they propose it and how these policies have evolved. Moreover, by illuminating the reasoning behind voter perspectives, we uncover motivations and priorities you may not have considered--sometimes helping you find common ground or new ways to debate with civility rather than division.
.... So why click through multiple sources when you can stop here for expert, independent, and research-backed analyses of what Republicans, Democrats, third parties, and the media are actually doing--on the issues that truly matters.

What We Do
What if politics wasn’t a war but a collaboration? What if citizens stopped fighting each other and started working together to hold those in power accountable? What if, instead of feeling disillusioned and divided, we were inspired to participate in a political system that truly reflected our values.
At Is It Allgood Politics, I aim to unite us—not by telling you what to think, but by giving you the tools to think for yourself.
- Unbiased Political Analysis: We dive into the nuances of key issues, exposing the truth behind partisan politics and media spin. Our research uncovers the motives behind political rhetoric and media narratives, helping readers discern facts from propaganda.
- Historical Context: Politics doesn’t happen in a vacuum. By connecting today’s debates to their historical roots, we illuminate how past decisions shape present-day challenges.
- Media Literacy: We reveal how media and political forces interact to shape public beliefs and attitudes, teaching critical media and political literacy to foster informed civic engagement.
Together, we can create a system where fairness, accountability, and representation are the foundation of democracy. Let’s make politics work for us.
Why We're Different
In a world flooded with biased narratives and partisan spin, Is It Allgood Politics stands out by doing what others don’t: empowering you to uncover the truth for yourself.
In today’s world, many feel overwhelmed by the sheer volume of information available. People often express frustration with biased media, the need to sift through countless sources to piece together the truth, and the divisiveness of political conversations that seem to breed more hostility than understanding. Others tune out entirely, discouraged by a system that feels impossible to navigate or too hateful to engage with.
What many long for is a community where debate is welcomed, discussions are civil, and the full history and key insights on issues are readily available—free from partisan agendas... and at Is It Allgood Politics, that’s exactly what we strive to create.
Is It Allgood Politics is a unique startup brand, founded in May 2024, by political communication scientist Avee Allgood. Motivated by a deep desire to bridge divides and ease polarization, Avee created Is It Allgood Politics to foster a space where accountability, understanding, and unity take center stage. As a result, this platform isn’t about pushing a narrative or promoting one party over another. It’s about empowering citizens with the knowledge and tools to think critically, challenge corruption, and build a better democracy--one that represents all of us.
Thus, we are NOT here to tell you what to believe. The goal is simply to challenge the tribalism that divides us and expose the ways politicians, corporations, and media manipulate us for their own gain.

Our Vision for the Future
Imagine a system where voters can choose from a spectrum of parties—Green, Libertarian, Progressive, Conservative, and more—each representing distinct ideologies and priorities. Imagine politicians earning their seats by building coalitions and collaborating across party lines. Imagine a government that truly reflects the diverse beliefs of its citizens.
This system is exactly what America's needs, so while we never promote any single party at Is It Allgood Politics, we do promote and advocate for electoral reform.
Specifically, we advocate for systemic reform to build a fairer and more representative democracy by championing:
- Electoral Reform: Breaking the two-party duopoly through ranked-choice voting, proportional representation, and campaign finance reform.
- Accountability: Comparing politicians’ promises against their actions to expose disparities between rhetoric and reality.
- Inclusion: Highlighting third-party and independent voices to broaden the political conversation and foster a pluralistic political landscape.
Why Is Electoral Reform Important?
Research underscores the urgent need for a multiparty political system, as the current two-party framework in the United States has entrenched a divisive, winner-take-all dynamic. This system limits representation, stifles competition, and discourages collaboration, fostering polarization rather than compromise.
Political scientists have long argued that proportional representation and ranked-choice voting could diversify the political landscape, enabling more ideologies and perspectives to have a voice in governance (Dalton, 2018; Farrell, 2021). With a proportional system, representation is no longer constrained to binary choices. Votes translate into seats based on the level of support, allowing for a broader range of voices to be heard.
The evolving digital media landscape further exacerbates these challenges. As technology advances, it reshapes democratic norms and communication styles, often for the worse. Social media platforms and fragmented media environments have amplified echo chambers, allowing individuals to insulate themselves within ideologically homogenous networks. This fosters extreme polarization, deepens mistrust in institutions, and undermines the deliberative nature of democracy (Sunstein, 2017).
Moreover, as public trust in government and media declines, citizens are increasingly vulnerable to misinformation and disengagement. These trends jeopardize the ability of democracies to function effectively, as people retreat from civic engagement or adhere rigidly to partisan identities.
Addressing these issues requires systemic reforms to the electoral and media systems. Expanding party options, adopting proportional representation, and incentivizing cross-party coalitions can foster healthier democratic norms. At the same time, promoting media literacy and encouraging exposure to diverse perspectives are critical to countering polarization and restoring trust. Only by tackling these challenges comprehensively can democracy adapt to the complexities of the modern era.
We don’t have to see politics as a battlefield of right versus wrong. We can restructure our system to ensure all voices are represented, all perspectives are heard, and all citizens are empowered. When voters have multiple options and fair representation, the incentives shift. Politicians must listen, compromise, and work for the public good—or face replacement by leaders who will.
Thus, this approach doesn’t divide us further; it empowers us to work together. Citizens can unite in holding corrupt politicians accountable, regardless of party affiliation, and demand governance that serves the people—not special interests.

About Me
Avee Allgood
Political Communication Scientist & Founder
LET US MAKE POLITICS DISCUSSABLE, UNDERSTANDABLE, AND RELATABLE. IT IS TIME TO BRING POLITICS BACK TO THE DINNER TABLE. Personally, my mission is clear: I want nothing more than to hold both Democrats and Republicans accountable. I do this by revealing where they align, where they differ, and how these dynamics impact their voters. I analyze not only what politicians say but also what they do—and critically examine why they say and do it. |
Welcome to my world of political analysis and commentary! I'm Avee Allgood, the voice behind Is It Allgood Politics.
My journey into the realm of politics and communication has been fueled by an unrelenting pursuit of knowledge and a deep passion for democratic engagement. With experience across the political spectrum, both domestically and internationally, I provide nuanced, research-driven insights that demystify complex political issues. Please note, I started IsItAllgoodPolitics.com as a recent graduate, and I’m currently teaching myself the ins and outs of building and developing it. Bear with me during these early stages—I only began working on it in May 2024, and I’m excited to grow it with you. Donations and paid subscribers are essential if I’m going to keep this as my full-time job, so please consider supporting me in any way you can to help sustain this platform and foster informed political conversations. Academic Achievements
I hold a Research Master's in Communication Science (MsC) from the University of Amsterdam, where I focused in political communication and journalism within the world’s top-ranked (#1) Communication Science program (Shanghai rankings). As the only American in this rigorous two-year track, I gained unique insights from students across the globe. Additionally, I completed a year-long internship, which enriched my academic and professional development. The program is designed to prepare students for Ph.D. studies, and living in Amsterdam has given me a global perspective on American politics, allowing me to integrate international insights into my research. During this time, I honed advanced research methodologies, including survey design, experimentation, content analysis, and big data applications. This training equips me with a methodical, empirical approach to political analysis, ensuring my insights are grounded in both data and contextual relevance. Research
My research spans various topics, including media trust and moral reframing in political communication, but it has mainly focused on understanding Trump-era Republican rhetoric. One of my most significant projects was a peer-reviewed paper titled Fox News' Foxiness and Role in the Big Lie, published in Perspectives on Politics. This study critically examined FOX News' involvement in promoting the 'Big Lie' narrative following the 2020 U.S. presidential election. I applied George Lakoff's Strict Father Morality (SFM) framework to analyze how FOX News used specific moral framings and metaphors that resonated with conservative audiences. Through a qualitative content analysis of 117 FOX News broadcast transcripts (and reviewing over 500 transcripts in total), I uncovered the network’s strategies to reinforce and perpetuate the narrative of a stolen election—a narrative that significantly shaped public opinion among Republicans. Building on this work, my thesis, From Red to Blue: How Moral Reframing Can Turn Elephants into Donkeys, explored how Lakoff's SFM and Nurturant Parent Morality (NPM) theories can be applied to shift political attitudes. This research offers valuable insights into how arguments can be framed to align with the moral values of different political groups, enhancing communication and reducing polarization. More recently, I’ve expanded my research to investigate how liberals employ similar moral framing strategies in their political communication. Just as conservatives have effectively used moral framing to galvanize their base, I am exploring how liberal media and politicians resonate with their audiences’ values. This ongoing research provides a balanced perspective on moral reframing across the political spectrum, illuminating both the similarities and differences in how these strategies are utilized. I believe this work is crucial to understanding the broader dynamics of U.S. political communication, revealing how both sides use moral narratives to shape public opinion and the national discourse. Finally, as part of my year-long internship, I conducted an extensive 500-page literature review on global media trust under the guidance of Dr. Mark Boukes. This research explored the dynamics of media trust and news consumption predictors across global media markets, covering all regions, including Asia, North America, Europe, Australia, the Middle East, and South America. Spanning from the newspaper era to the rise of social media, the study examined the effects of misinformation, echo chambers, and the factors that influence media trust and distrust. Additionally, it investigated the critical connection between media trust and political trust. By analyzing both macro- and micro-level factors, the research provided comprehensive insights into how media trust varies across different political, economic, and cultural landscapes, offering a nuanced understanding of its implications for democracy globally. Background and Perspective
For full transparency, let me share a bit about my background- I am originally from North Carolina, where I grew up in a small conservative town. Although I was a registered Democrat since I was 16, I switched my party affiliation in 2024. Nowadays, I no longer consider myself a part of mainstream politics, so I am now registered with a third party. Ultimately, I believe I think and evaluate politics like a true independent, as I focus on the policies more than anything, but it took me a few years to get to this point. Education and Political Campaign Experience
I pursued my undergraduate education at the University of South Carolina, where I studied political science and psychology, with a focus on U.S. national campaigns and political ideology (GO COCKS!). During this time, I worked on Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign. While the experience was valuable, my perspective shifted after attending the 2016 Primary Debates between Clinton and Sanders in Charleston. I was the only intern from Hillary's campaign invited inside, thanks to a kind woman with an extra ticket. Witnessing Bernie Sanders debate firsthand left a strong impression on me—let’s just say I "felt the Bern." Inspired by the passion of his supporters, I ultimately shifted my support to Sanders in the primary. Nonetheless, I continued to back Clinton in the general election. This involvement opened doors for me to serve as head intern for the South Carolina Democratic Party (SCDP), where I had the opportunity to work closely with then-SCDP leader and current DNC chairman Jaime Harrison and his executive director, Jaime Perkey. A key role I held involved preparing for the Democratic National Convention I graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, Magna Cum Laude, and ever since, my research has primarily centered on political rhetoric within the Republican Party and populist movements, enabling me to develop a nuanced understanding of their discourse, concerns, and strategic approaches. Nowadays, I consider myself an independent- thinking progressive that knows how to talk to Republicans—largely because I was raised among them, understand them, and love them dearly. After graduation, I moved to Boston to pursue a Master's in Legal Studies at Northeastern University while working. Encouraged by a professor who saw promise in my work, I considered law school and dedicated time to preparing for the LSAT. However, after completing the LSAT in 2019, I realized that my true passion lay in politics, prompting me to shift my focus toward political communication. To gain new experiences and broaden my horizons, I decided to become an au pair in Amsterdam for a few months while applying to graduate schools. In August 2019, I moved abroad to live in Amsterdam, immersing myself in a new culture while continuing to shape my academic and professional path toward politics. That's how I eventually enrolled in the Research Master's in Communication Science program at the University of Amsterdam. Living in Amsterdam since 2019 has given me a truly global perspective on American politics, enriching my research through insights gained from international discussions. This experience has transformed my approach, teaching me the importance of incorporating diverse viewpoints into my analysis. In addition, my travels to 50 countries have further deepened my understanding of global perspectives, allowing me to engage with a wide range of cultures and ideas. Together, these experiences have shaped my outlook, and I’m excited to share what I’ve learned with you. There has never been a more critical time to pay attention to politics and grasp the realities of the game. I hope to earn your trust and foster a more engaged and informed citizenry, both in the U.S. and globally.
Thanks for being here.
Love, Avee Allgood
